The Ladder
Redruth, Cornwall
2022
Creative workspace and performance facilities within a Grade II listed former college building in Redruth.

The fit-out will accommodate Raised in Cornwall; a social enterprise providing early years childcare. Income from this tenant will cross-subsidise new creative workspaces.

Bespoke play structures riff on a ‘trefoil’ motif found within the historic fenestration, reimagining the form as a cloud.

Halfmoon House
Suffolk
2023
Re-imagination of a rural lakeside home in Suffolk.

A curved gallery interfaces between the house and the lake, providing a bright waterside living space and resolving circulation issues in the current plan.

Within the current building envelope, a double height kitchen / living room allows a moment of height and expansiveness within an otherwise compressed set of rooms.

A collaboration with Thomas Randall-Page.

Linden Thing
Kew Gardens, London
2022
Our winning entry for the Kew Treehouses competition earlier this year.

The design is inspired by the Germanic Gerichtslinde, a linden tree where assemblies were held in order to restore justice and peace.

Combining raw tree trunks with engineered CLT slabs the scheme celebrates a contrast between low and high timber technologies.

A collaboration with Thomas Randall-Page and Xylotek.

Croes Roberts Farm
Trellech, Monmouthshire
2022
Extension of a rural dwelling in the Wye Valley Conservation Area.

Centered around a covered perch, this modest addition is finely tuned for enjoyment of the best valley views.

The project has been granted planning and is expected to be on site early 2023.

Message to Bears Studio
Bristol
2022
A recording studio for Bristol based musician Message to Bears.

An exploration of expressed cladding structure; this high performance acoustic skin is clad with a delicate layering of stained timber.
